What is makandra cards?

We are makandra Show archive.org snapshot , a team of 60 web developers, DevOps and UI/UX experts from Augsburg, Germany. We have firmly anchored the sharing of knowledge and continuous learning in our company culture. Our makandra cards are our internal best practices and tips for our daily work. They are read worldwide by developers looking for help and tips on web development with Ruby on Rails and DevOps.

15 years ago – in 2009 – we wrote our first card. Since then, over 6000 cards have been created, not only by us, but also from other developers in the community who also wanted to contribute to the expansion of the knowledge base.

How does makandra cards work?

Many of our readers stumble across our cards when they have a problem and are researching the topic in the search engine of their choice.

However, there is a search function in makandra cards as well, which can help you find anything available on the topics that are currently on your mind. The search function works across all decks.

Our decks in makandra cards

We have organized our cards into decks. There are a few decks for the biggest topics, in these decks the cards are stored mostly unsorted. If you are looking for something specific, you can either use the search function or you can filter by topics (in the top right corner). If there are cards on the topic you are looking for, you will find it in the right deck. But as mentioned above: Most users find us via the search engine of their choice.

makandra dev: The biggest deck in makandra cards

We gain the most experience in web development and Ruby on Rails in our day-to-day work, as web development is our largest team and we write all our applications in Ruby on Rails. Accordingly, makandra dev is the deck with the most cards.

Trainee program and makandra curriculum

In makandra cards we also manage our curriculum for the two trainee programs we offer: the DevOps and Full-Stack Web Development trainee programs

As background: Almost all of our employees do not start on projects immediately after joining us, but first go through a trainee program lasting several months to get to know our technology stack and our way of working. This is publicly accessible on makandra cards. So if you want to become a DevOps expert yourself or expand your knowledge of full-stack web development, get started. You can teach yourself a lot with the cards and work your way through our trainee program.

Get to know the curriculum of the DevOps trainee program, here you find operations topics or DevOps cards.

Here you can find the curriculum of the full-stack web development trainee program.

It serves as practical support for anyone who wants to expand their technical skills or anyone who runs into a problem and wants to profit from the solution of experienced Rails developers and DevOps experts.
