Git: Apply a diff

git apply allows you to apply a diff onto your HEAD. Most often you can achieve the same result with a rebase & merge.

master commit1 - commit3 feature-branch \ commit2 - commit4
git checkout feature-branch git reset --hard commit3 git diff ..commit4 | git apply
master commit1 - commit3 feature-branch \ Unstaged commit 2 & 4

You can also create a patch and apply it afterwards.

Does your version of Ruby on Rails still receive security updates?
Rails LTS provides security patches for old versions of Ruby on Rails (3.2 and 2.3).
