Usefull Shortcuts

You can get a full list of all shortcuts in the settings (gearwheel-icon), tab "shortcuts". But since the list is long and it's hard to find something, here are some I use regularly.

How to add copyright information to your pictures

Here are some basic infos about common licenses.

Apply settings on import

Since there is no option to apply standard values on export, the easiest way to get copyright information on all your pictures is to apply them on import.

For darktable 3.0: open the global settings (gearwheel in the upper part of the main area) and fill in the settings under "GUI options" -> "import".

For darktable 3.6: In the import panel, open "parameters".

Darktable has several modules for that:

chromatic aberrations

I couldn't see a difference in the picture regardless if it was turned on or off.

lens correction

The lens correction module also offers sliders for "TCA red" and "TCA blue". I haven't tried it yet as it couldn't find data for my lens.

Add watermark on image export

You will have to create an image style which applies your logo. Then you can use this style when exporting.

Step by step:

1. Preparation

  1. Place your watermark file (as .png or .svg) in the folder ~/.config/darktable/watermarks (for Linux) or C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\darktable\watermarks (for Windows). If the folder doesn't exist, create it.
  2. Restart Darktable

2. Add watermark to one picture

  1. Go to the darkroom view for a picture
  2. Select "watermark" ("Wasserzeichen") from "more modules" ("Weitere Module") (...
