Instillation/Set-up Instructions for Rsnapshot

Switching… » Setting up maildrop

Switch from postfix's built-in "virtual" delivery daemon, and use "maildrop" instead

Build maildrop from source

Download the maildrop code here and follow the instructions in the INSTALL file. Carefully read the part about integrating with courier-authlib. Also, set the UID and GID properly when configuring (see this page and search for "Courier Maildrop")

Ubuntu 10.04 maildrop issue

The maildrop package on Ubuntu 10.04 is not configured to work with courier-authdaemon. To test this, run maildrop -v and look for the line Courier Authentication Library extension enabled. To enable, build maildrop from source. See this article for an explanation of one issue this may cause.
