Git: Switching back to the previous branch

Using git checkout - you can switch back to the branch you previously worked on.

(master) $ git checkout foobar
Switched to branch 'foobar'
(foobar) $ git checkout -
Switched to branch 'master'
(master) $

(master) $ git checkout foobar
Switched to branch 'foobar'
